What is the difference between Blandy Experimental Farm and the Arboretum?
Blandy Experimental Farm is the larger entity and includes the Arboretum. Blandy occupies the whole 712 acre property, which is owned and administered by the University of Virginia as an ecological field station to increase understanding of the natural environment through research and education. The Arboretum serves as a resource to further Blandy's mission, and the Foundation of the State Arboretum (FOSA) supports Blandy, including the Arboretum, through fundraising and extensive volunteer activities with programs, grounds, and facilities.
