Summer Nature Camp
Blandy's Summer Nature Camp is offered each July. Individual camps last one week, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon. We offer two camps for rising 2nd-4th graders and one camp for rising 5th-8th graders.
Camps for younger children focus on a central theme, with supporting activities, experiments, and crafts. Camps address topics such as ecology, geology, wetlands, nature and art, and weather. Themes for summer 2015 were "Weird & Wacky Nature" and "International Nature Camp."
Rising 5th-8th graders enroll in the more investigative EcoExplorers. Participants work in pairs to identify a scientific question, collect appropriate field data, and analyze their results. On the last day, they present their findings to other campers, parents, and Blandy students and staff. Details for 2016 will be available in late winter.
