Summer Nature Camp 2014
Blandy's Summer Nature Camp is offered each July. Individual camps last one week, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to noon. We offer two camps for rising 2nd-4th graders and one camp for rising 5th-8th graders.
Camps for younger children focus on a central theme, with supporting activities, experiments, and crafts. Camps address topics such as ecology, geology, wetlands, nature and art, and weather. Themes for summer 2014 were "Lost & Found: Natural Mysteries" and "Eagle Eyes & Dragonflies."
Rising 5th-8th graders enroll in the more investigative EcoExplorers. Participants work in pairs to identify a scientific question, collect appropriate field data, and analyze their results. On the last day, they present their findings to other campers, parents, and Blandy students and staff.
