Young Naturalist programs get kids outdoors to explore nature in winter. Programs focus on the 
area's natural history, geography, weather, and related topics. 

Programs include observation, hands-on activities, crafts, snack, and time outside.

Ages and Times

Grades 1-3 attend sessions from 9-11:30 a.m.

Grades 4-6 attend from 12:30-3 p.m.

Northern Lights/Winter Nights will meet 6-8:30 p.m., February 11, for both age groups.

 A child can attend one, two, or all five sessions.

  The Young Naturalist Program is presented by Blandy staff, with volunteer assistance from Virginia Master Naturalists, teachers, and others with an interest in education and the natural world. Our program is sponsored by The Adams Companies.
