Clarke County Students Making a Difference in their Watershed!
Clarke County students are making a difference in our watershed! Local channel WVDM covered the story here.
Native brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) juveniles were released into Spout Run, a stream cold, oxygen-rich, and pebbly enough to allow these trout to survive. These trout were raised from eggs by Clarke County high school students.

In 2011, a group of bicycling arborists paused at the Arboretum and planted 35 trees in an hour. That planting kicked off our Community Forest, a multi-year tree planting to expand the forest for wildlife near the front entrance. Civic organizations and school groups continued planting trees...
