Feedback Wanted on Road Closures

Your visitor experience is important to us and we want to know what you think about a proposal to close a section of road at Blandy to vehicle traffic. We are currently employing temporary short-term road closures on a portion of Blandy Farm Lane where it cuts through the Native Plant Meadow beyond the main parking areas. These closures impact visitor vehicle traffic, requiring drivers to explore the property via Wilkins Lane Loop Drive, rather than cutting through on Blandy Farm Lane. The road remains open to pedestrian, bicycle, and staff vehicle traffic. This section of road is narrow, has blind curves, and is frequented by pedestrian visitors and youth program participants. There is discussion about making these road closures regular and/or permanent and we want feedback from Blandy visitors like you!

The primary motivation for considering this change is to enhance the safety of the area for use by our K-12 program participants. Additionally, the proposed closure could provide an improved pedestrian experience and a safer crossing for turtles and other wildlife.

We understand that road closures like this are likely to impact a number of our visitors and would alter the way vehicles move to different areas of the property, so we want to provide opportunities for you to share feedback. Thank you for taking the time to complete our short five question survey to let us know what you think about this. https://tinyurl.com/blandyroadsurvey
