A Festival of Art and Nature
Plein Air at the Arboretum will return for its second year September 18-21, 2024. This four-day event held on the grounds of Blandy Experimental Farm and the State Arboretum of Virginia offers an expansive 700 acres of picturesque gardens, meadows, lakes and trails, wetland, woodlands, and the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains for this special plein air event. Nearly 100 artists participated in this event last year, including competitions, a public art sale, featured artists and more.
Plein Air at the Arboretum is a collaboration with the NOVA Plein Air Artists and Foundation of the State Arboretum (FOSA) the nonprofit that supports Blandy Experimental Farm and the State Arboretum's varied collections and public education programs. Proceeds from the Plein Air event benefit FOSA.
