A day-long investigation! Student researchers use critical thinking to conduct scientific investigations as they: define a problem, develo
p a hypothesis, interpret data, and communicate their results. Previous explorations include: animal and plant adaptations, the effect of abiotic factors on lichen, and the impact of non-native species in a wetland.
This program is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A sample schedule an map can be viewed here. This is a highly variable program, you will get a customized schedule and map based on your needs.
Field investigations are more meaningful to students when they are integrated into their curriculum. We are happy to communicate with you to customize your field experience.
Target SOLS
This program focuses on science and engineering practices: identify something to investigate, design an investigation, analyze and synthesize the findings and present to other researchers.
