A few trees in the middle of the grove are starting to show some yellow, but most of the trees are still mostly green.
The best time to see golden ginkgoes at Blandy is usually late October - early November.

The Ginkgo Grove undergoes a magical transformation each Fall as the leaves transition from green to gold. Here's what the Ginkgo Grove looks like today. Although a few of the youngest saplings are staring to show a tinge of yellow, the vast majority of the leaves at the Grove are still green.
The best time to see golden ginkgoes at Blandy is usually late October - early November.

Heads up! VDOT will be repaving Blandy's main entrance road this week. While cars will be able to enter Blandy from Route 50 while the crew is working, there may be delays. Consider using Blandy's back entrance off of Berrys Ferry. Apologies for the inconvenience!

For the next few months, you can read all about monarch migration a page at a time as you explore the Native Plant Trail Meadow at Blandy.
The two public bathrooms at the Quarters building will be closed due to renovations over the next few weeks. We can't wait to show off the new and improved restrooms in September!
In the meantime, alternative restrooms are available at Peetwood Pavilion, the Picnic Grove, and the overflow parking lot. So sorry for any inconvenience!
Plein Air at the Arboretum 2023 is the State Arboretum of Virginia's inaugural plein air event. This four-day event begins on Wednesday, September 27 when artists will gather to paint on over 700 acres of picturesque gardens, meadows, lakes and trails, wetland, woodlands, and the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains that surround the arboretum. It will run through Saturday, September 30th.
Shop nearly 60 vendors for the very best selection of native plants, annuals, perennials, herbs, trees, shrubs, garden tools, nature-inspired crafts and more. Food, music, children’s activities, and educational opportunities too! Tickets $10/car in advance, $15/car at the gate.
